Nice piece of work, not as interesting as expected. However it will remain in my library for the long term.
I've been a fan of The Onion for years, and enjoy their weekly newsletter as well as their daily one-minute podcasts. That said, I found this book to be less entertaining - sure there's ribald and sophomoric humor (a la the Harvard Lampoon and then National Lampoon of decades ago) but I guess I prefer my bon-mots in smaller doses.Plenty clever, but not my first choice in humorous books.
I found this book by accident shortly before Christmas and enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying copies for a lot of my friends. It is frequently laugh-out-loud funny, not at all politically correct. I loved it.
Our Dumb Century has its moments, and its a good book, but it didn't make me howl with laughter the way Our Dumb World did. But maybe that's not a fair comparison because Our Dumb World might just be the funniest book ever written.
The title pretty much sums this book up. All the articles are funny but my favorite one is about Amelia Earhart. "AMELIA EARHART MISSING, famed aviatrix probably shopping search teams say." If you have a sense of humor and you like recent History then you will love this book.
